The Pirate's Brand: Chapter 1

An Update on this Recording, as of December 12th, 2011:

As many of you know, this is an old version of the first chapter of The Pirate's Brand, but I will leave it posted here for now because so many of you have written to me stating that the reading of it was so compelling...

I will soon post a new recording of the new version, but for now it stands...thanks to your comments and support.

For those of you who have been curious about the book, I recorded a reading of the first chapter so you can get a sense of what I've been working and reworking for years now.

For those of you who are not aware of the book's context and narrative basics, here is a bit of what might go on the back cover:

Based on a true story and set in the waning years of the golden age of piracy, The Pirate’s Brand traces the paths of two very different women, one from London’s streets and the other from the drawing rooms of Charleston high society, onto the same pirate deck: where they struggle to reconcile the ghosts and shadows of their pasts with the life and love they have chosen.
